Shane works in the real estate industry and is a familiar face around the local footy club, while Julie is a dedicated primary school teacher. Together, they bring a warm, down-to-earth approach to hosting, creating a space that feels relaxed and easy to settle into.
Tallowwood Apartment is fully self-contained and private, located under the main roof but positioned on the opposite end of the home, so you can enjoy your own space while knowing your hosts are nearby if needed. Shane and Julie are as present or as hands-off as you’d like - always happy to share a chat or local recommendations, while fully respecting your privacy.
You’re welcome to bring your friendly pets along, and you will meet Teddy, their Tibetan Spaniel, who loves meeting new people (after he’s had a good bark first!). Many guests return time and time again, often becoming familiar faces and friends - something Shane and Julie truly value!

A beautiful home with lovely hosts. We felt very comfortable staying at the apartment in Donnybrook. A peaceful neighbourhood with great bird life nearby. The apartment itself was clean and spacious, with a well appointed kitchen. Highly recommend to anyone travelling through the area.

This property and Shane's attention to detail takes away the hassle of travelling with a young family whilst offering plenty of comfort, which is just what I wanted.

Fabulous stay and a beautiful place in the perfect location. We were in between moving and needed a dog friendly stay - it was perfect. It made moving so much less stressful. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs who enjoyed their stay too. I would highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting Donnybrook.

Shane’s place was exactly as described and had all the amenities we needed for a lovely weekend stay in Donnybrook. The house is clean and spacious with plenty room for up to 4 guests and pets. Our dog Hollie had a great time roaming around the large fenced back garden and got on really well with Shane’s dog, Teddy.

We really enjoyed our stay in Donnybrook. Our hosts were friendly, responsive and thoughtful and struck a great balance between being friendly and giving us our space. The house is well organised and equipped for adults and children with toys, books and sundries. We'd definitely love to come and stay again!
